We are always interested in hearing from enthusiastic folks that want to collaborate or join the AABLab. Read below before reaching out, here.
I will always consider proposals for equitable partnerships on the topics, taxa, or systems on which we work. In general, I would like to see Greenland represented more in global projects and initiatives, instead of being listed as data deficient. Be sure to reach out early in the development process because I support equitable partnerships when time and resources allow, but I seldom participate in last-minute requests for participation to fulfill a requirement for a “local” partner. Contact me and let’s discuss.
I am happy to collaborate with early-career researchers to further their professional ambition, but I seldom have the funding to support postdoc and Ph.D. projects. I can generally support applications for fellowships and other funding support that align with the lab’s research aims and that I can mentor effectively. If you are interested, send me a short description of what you are interested in and how it overlaps with the lab’s aims. Be sure to contact me well before any expected application deadline.
I often host internship, B.Sc., and M.Sc. projects that align with the lab’s research and monitoring aims, and I usually recruit 1-2 people before January to conduct a student project within one of our summer field campaigns. M.Sc. students are usually, but not always, from Lund University. I expect students and interns to either come with secured funding or apply for funding assistance because I generally do not have paid positions for unsolicited requests. Several funding opportunities exist that facilitate joining the lab (see below), and your home institution may also provide financial support. Send me a short description of your topic of interest and how it overlaps with the lab’s research, monitoring, or both and what funding assistance you have or plan to apply for. You must contact me and have my explicit support before applying for funding to join the lab. The best is if you contact me well before an anticipated deadline.
